fishes and anglers must be in accordance with state and federal
regulations, along with Swollfest Fishing Rodeo rules and
regulations.

8. Swollfest
weigh master and/or board members have the right to open and
inspect any fish entered in the rodeo.
9. You
are entering Swollfest Fishing Rodeo are at your own risk. Sand
Dollar Marina, Nicholas Rauber, Board of Directors, Board of
Representatives, weigh masters, Swollfest sponsors, rodeo
officials, rodeo volunteers, Muscular Dystrophy Association
and/or the American Diabetes Association will not be held liable
for any damages or injury suffered at this event.
10.
Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.
11.
In the event of a categorical tie, the fish that is first
entered wins.
12.
All rodeo entry fees and sponsorships are non-refundable.
13.
The inshore,
coastal, and blue water divisions are for
ROD and REEL
fish only.
No speared fish
will be allowed in
these categories. There will be a specific spearfishing division
for speared fish
ONLY.
14.
All fishing locations
must be accessible to the public at all times according to state
and federal regulations, no private fishing grounds.
15.
Any attempt to circumvent the rules
of Swollfest Fishing Rodeo will be punished by disqualification
of fish and/or angler.
16.
The Board of
Directors’ decision will be final.
17.
The weigh master's decision is final.
18.
All money transactions are final.
19.
No swapping of fish
between competitors or team members is allowed.
20.
Gaffing is allowed, but any
mutilation of fish deemed unnecessary by the rodeo weigh
master/Board of Directors will result in disqualification of the
fish.
21.
Only first place
winners in the Open Master Board (Blue Water, Coastal,
Inshore, and Spearfishing Divisions) will pick from the prize

22.
If a fish is entered in the Open
Master Board, it may not be entered into any Closed Board. The
only other division it may be entered into is Overall biggest
fish.

Point System
– First Place – 3 points;
Second Place – 2 points; Third Place – 1 point
25.
The overall biggest fish may be
caught on rod and reel or speared, as long as the fish is in
accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
26.
Teams/Boat
– team minimum is 3, team maximum is 6. If you have more than 6
people, you will have to form multiple teams and you may number
them, i.e. TeamFish 1, TeamFish 2, etc – Each will be a separate
team in order to be fair for winning Best Boat.
27.
Your boat or vehicle must be in the
perimeter/property of the Sand Dollar Marina with the
fish/fishes to be entered and the angler must report to the
weigh master or Board of Director member before official closing
of scales, 6:30pm, to enter a fish. NO EXCEPTIONS.
28.
Weigh-ins will be from 4:00– 6:30 pm
on Friday and Saturday held at the Sand Dollar Marina Pavilion.
29.
At 6:30pm Saturday, Swollfest Fishing
Rodeo is closed for that year. Scales will stay open until
all fish brought in before 6:30pm are weighed in. Awards
ceremony will follow the final weigh in and will start
approximately at 8pm.
30.
You may sign up/enter
the rodeo up until 3:59 pm, from weigh master/Board of
Directors’ time, on Saturday. Once the final weigh in begins,
you may not sign up/enter to compete in the rodeo.
Spearfishing
Division
1.
All spearfishing follows the
rules of the Louisiana Council of Underwater Dive Clubs (LCUDC),
THEIR derby Board rules, and the Louisiana
Freedive Spearfishing Records Committee rules and
regulations. (You can visit the LCUDC WEBSITE for a list of
current rules)
2. All spearfishermen must be in
accordance with the Swollfest Rules and Regulations in
addition to the specific SCUBA and freedive spearfishing
rules
Kayak Division
1.
All fish must be caught on rod and reel out of the
kayak, no wade fishing.
2.
Use of a boat or motorized watercraft to transport
your kayak on the water is prohibited.
3.
All craft must be self-propelled, no trolling motors.
4.
All fishing locations must be accessible to the
public at all times according to state and federal
regulations, no private fishing grounds.
5. All
fishes caught in this division must be caught on artificial
lures, no live bait.
6. Kayak
Division consists of largest redfish under 27”, largest
speckled trout, and largest flounder.
7. Overall Kayak Fishing Champion will be awarded to the
individual with the most points accumulated (First
Place – 3 points; Second Place – 2 points; Third Place
– 1 point)
across all categories in the Kayak Division.
8. All
kayak fishermen must be in accordance with the Swollfest
Rules and Regulations, in addition to the specific kayak
division rules
9. If
you choose to fish out of a kayak, but not follow these
specific rules, your fish may be entered into the inshore
division on the Open Master Board
2011 CCA/STAR and
Swollfest Tagged Redfish Prize
1. The angler must be registered and paid in full to both CCA/STAR and
Swollfest for the 2011 year PRIOR to catching the
tagged redfish. You will be subjected to a polygraph test
to assure this rule.
2. The Swollfest Tagged Redfish Prize pertains only to a 2011
CCA/STAR tagged redfish. No other CCA/STAR
tagged fish, regardless of species, are eligible for the
Swollfest Tagged Redfish Prize.
3. To be eligible for the Swollfest Tagged Redfish Prize, the angler
must catch the CCA/STAR tagged redfish after 12:01 a.m. on
Thursday, June 9, 2011 and must the angler
must bring the CCA/STAR tagged redfish to the Swollfest
weigh master or Swollfest Board of Director member before
the official closing of scales at 6:30pm on Saturday, June
11, 2011.
4. The Swollfest Board of Director Members are: Nick Rauber
504-858-8905, Sid Seruntine 504-453-3120, Kevin Plaisance
504-275-6674, and Ryan Malone 504-577-3746. Damien Drouant
is the only weigh master.
5. The angler must comply with all CCA/STAR requirements, rules, and
regulations and must comply with all Swollfest
requirements, rules, and regulations to win the Swollfest
Tagged Redfish Prize.
6. If you are fishing under a sponsor’s team, then the individual
angler that caught the CCA/STAR tagged redfish must be
registered and listed for that team with Swollfest
PRIOR to catching the CCA/STAR tagged redfish; an angler
cannot fill in a spot for any sponsored team after catching
the tagged redfish. You will be subjected to a polygraph
test to assure this rule.
7. There is only one
Swollfest Tagged Redfish Prize. In the event that more than one angler catches a CCA/STAR tagged
redfish, then the first angler that brings the CCA/STAR
tagged redfish to the Swollfest weigh master or Swollfest
Board of Director member before the official closing of
scales at 6:30pm on Saturday, June 11, 2011 shall be
entitled to the Swollfest Tagged Redfish Prize. No
additional prize will be awarded to any angler who
subsequently reports a CCA/STAR tagged redfish.
8. The redfish must be a 2011 CCA/STAR tagged redfish, no other
previous year tagged redfish will be accepted.
9. NO Swollfest Board of Director member or Representative member may
win the Swollfest Tagged Redfish Prize.
10.
Any conflict between the CCA/STAR’s
requirements/rules/regulations and Swollfest’s
requirements/rules/regulations, as it pertains to 2011
CCA/STAR and Swollfest Tagged Redfish Prize only, shall
be decided in favor of the CCA/STAR
requirements/rules/regulations.
