Swollfest Rodeo Rules and Regulations

 

Rules and Regulations

1.      All fishes and anglers must be in accordance with state and federal regulations, along with rodeo rules.

2.      No billfish (marlin, sailfish, spearfish, or swordfish) or sharks allowed in Swollfest Fishing Rodeo.

3.      Children's division is for anglers 12 years old and under.

4.      Swollfest weighmaster and/or Board members have the right to open and inspect any fish entered in the rodeo.

5.      Upon entering Swollfest Fishing Rodeo you are at your own risk. Sand Dollar Marina, Nicholas Rauber, Board of Directors, Board of Representatives, weigh masters, Swollfest sponsors, rodeo officials, rodeo volunteers, and/or the American Diabetes Association will not be held liable for any damages.

6.      Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.

7.      In the event of a categorical tie, the fish that is first entered wins. In the event of a divisional or team tie, overall cumulative weight will be the tiebreaker.

8.      All rodeo entry fees are non-refundable.

9.      The inshore, coastal, and blue water divisions are for ROD and REEL fish only. No speared fish will be allowed in these categories. There will be a specific spearfishing division for speared fish only.

10.  Any attempt to circumvent the rules of Swollfest will be punished by disqualification of fish and/or angler.

11.  The Board of Directors’ decision will be final.

12.  The weigh master's decision is final.

13.  All money transactions are final.

14.  Gaffing is allowed, but any mutilation of fish deemed unnecessary by the rodeo weighmaster/Board of Directors will result in disqualification of the fish. 

15.  No power heads will be allowed in the spearfishing division.

16.  Any fish speared must be taken without assistance, and the diver must be submerged.

17.  The overall biggest fish may be caught on rod and reel or speared, as long as the fish is in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.

18.  Team minimum is three and team maximum is six.  If you have more than 6 people, you will have to form multiple teams and you may number them, i.e. TeamFish 1, TeamFish 2, etc) – Each will be a separate team for fairness of divisional team winnings.

19.  Boat or vehicle must be in the perimeter/property of the Sand Dollar Marina with the fish/fishes to be entered and the angler must report to the weigh master or Board of Director member before official closing of scales, 6:30pm, to enter a fish.  No exceptions.

20.  Weigh ins will be from 4:00– 6:30 pm on Friday and Saturday

21.  At 6:30pm Saturday, Swollfest Fishing Rodeo is closed for that year.    Scales will stay open until all fish brought in before 6:30pm are weighed in. Awards ceremony will follow the final weigh in and will start approximately at 8pm.

22.  You may sign up/enter the rodeo up until 3:59 pm, from weigh master/Board of Directors’ time, on Saturday.  Once the final weigh in begins, you may not sign up/enter the rodeo.
